Vida is a  non-profit organization registered under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Your program fee is a charitable donation and used to provide free medical, dental, and veterinary care services to underserved communities in Central America.

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs. It is a simple but powerful way to generate extra financial support for your trip —at no cost to you.

To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, by following these three easy steps

Follow these three easy steps to have your dollars matched:

  1. Make a payment or sponsorship to a student. Be sure to keep your receipt.
  2. See if your company matches. Each qualifying employer has a slightly different process and deadline, so check with your HR department for details!

***For people from other countries, you can go to the bank and ask for a US check to mail to us. You will be notified once the check has arrived

FAQs

How long does it take for a matching gift to be processed?

We cannot confirm any matching gift requests with your company until your original gift has been fully processed in our system. This can take several weeks. Once gifts are confirmed, payment times vary from company to company.

How do I request Vida’s tax ID number (EIN) and/or letter to apply for a matching gift?

Vida’s tax ID number (EIN) is 39-2077094 . If you need a letter, please contact financial@vidavolunteer.org or +1-888-365-VIDA opt. 2  to obtain VIDA’s tax ID letter and/or W-9 document. We will respond to you within 48 business hours.

How can I check the status of my matching gift?

If your company uses an online portal, you can often check the status via your intranet.
